Social Media Graphics Design
During my tenure with legacy alternative fashion label Lip Service, I managed brand messaging on various social media platforms. With exclusive deals, discounts, and contests as incentives, I leveraged the fan base on other forums to consolidate the audience, extend our reach, and increase engagement. Plus, I designed a constant stream of branded graphics using popular stylegroups, celebrity cross-promotions, and fan-favorite models to drive more viral promotion by influential fans.
I also designed flyers for Downtown Los Angeles event space Studio Servitu to promote underground art and nightlife events.
Recently, I’ve designed sets of social media graphics for book launch campaigns.
Sales & Special Promotions
One of the most critical aspects of managing Lip Service’s social media engagement was keeping true to the company’s voice. With a customer base moored in punk and counter-culture sensibilities, and a long-term primary slogan of “more crap for the masses,” a tongue-in-cheek approach to marketing was often the foil for polished fashion imagery which drove engagement and viral sharing of our promotional graphics.
25th Anniversary “We Want” Campaign
For Lip Service’s 25th anniversary, they wanted to release a coffee table book about the origins and history of the company. So they enlisted me to promote the drive to collect stories, photos, and messages from Lippy Addicts. The “We want” campaign was the primary content drive.
Stylegroup Graphics
Branded fashion graphics formed the foundation of the marketing campaign for each stylegroup in the Lip Service collection. The challenge was: the full collection was sorted into five different genre divisions, all of which had their own separate fan base with its own unique character and tastes. So the graphics’ imagery and styling — from fonts and color schemes to tone and concepts — were selected to appeal to the base of its division.
Branded Wallpapers
Lip Service, also known as “The Original Cult,” had an impressively large, diverse, and fanatical fan base for a fashion label their size. From my earliest days working with them, I realized there was no such thing as too many branded graphics. So I started to produce pieces that would have better traction than reposted style graphics, including wallpapers inspired by the most popular stylegroups in each division.
Book Marketing Graphics
After completing the rebranding design of Charmaine Pauls’s 7 Forbidden Arts series, I designed a full collection of social media graphics for her marketing campaign. Every novel in the series, as well as the box set itself, had its own promotional set with a Facebook page header and post graphics to act as teasers and launch its new version.

Event Flyers
In addition to event and trade show flyers for Lip Service, I also designed flyers for Downtown Los Angeles event space Studio Servitu to promote underground art and nightlife events hosted by the studio’s owners. Below are some of my favorite designs.
Celebrity Cross-Promotion
As the manager of Lip Service’s social media marketing and branded webzine, I oversaw celebrity cross-promotions. In some cases, this would mainly entail running a contest and acting as the contact for talent and their management. In many others, the role also included being the facilitator and editor for talent as they wrote tour journals for the webzine.
